So, with the holidays here, and the night before Christmas...I...Well... I haven't done a darn thing. I'm way behind the ball on purchasing Christmas gifts. However, this year, like the ones before, my kids and family isn't too focused on the actual 'gifting' part of the holidays.

We actually did the following in preparation for the holiday, INSTEAD, of buying presents.

- Made our own Christmas play (to be done for friends and family)
- Created our own dialogue on what Christmas means to us (to be shared on Christmas)
- And kept the present number to 3 per person
- Collected all the Christmas movies we want to watch on Christmas Eve
- Cooked some great assortment of Christmas Cookies

So, what have you done this holiday to celebrate?

ANOTHER excerpt from Purgatory Reign

This is ANOTHER excerpt that hasn't been shared yet, but I want to give you all a small taste of what's in store when you start this adventure with Peter Saints.

“I can’t help the dead.” Pastor Finn pushed Peter’s hands away from him. “But I have to help you. Come with me.”

Peter watched him, confused. His teeth clenched at Pastor Finn’s betrayal. “I thought you were different. I have to go back. Bury her, like she deserves.” Peter stumbled backwards.

Pastor Finn’s hand burst forward and grabbed Peter’s shirt at his shoulder. Tightening his fist, he dragged Peter around the side of the building and through the door to the basement.  Peter struggled in vain as Pastor Finn’s firm grip didn’t relent, but tugged Peter through the basement past several tall stacks of boxes.

“You have to get out of here. Leave before they find out you are still alive,” Pastor Finn demanded.

Peter shook his head in disbelief of the man’s off-beat ranting. “Who? Who would care if I am dead or alive? I don’t have a family, remember? They died, they all died! Why the hell I didn’t die with them I’ll never know.” He hit downward, breaking Pastor Finn’s hold on him. “Seems to me all I’m good for is causing death.”

Dark blue eyes assessed him, and then Pastor Finn twisted to rummage through a box in front of him. “Your mother saved you. We’d been in contact with your father and knew we had to get you to safety. It was better they thought you were dead. Easier to hide you that way.”

“What are you talking about?” Peter frowned. His hand started to itch and burn even hotter than before. “Ugh! God, this hurts.”

Pastor Finn stopped his rummaging through the box and turned around handing Peter a bag. “What hurts? You got hurt?”

Peter lifted his hand and Pastor Finn held it. “This is it. The sign. It is time.”

Confused, Peter’s eyebrow lifted. “What time? Tell me what is going on? What is it?”

Sneak Peek Excerpt from Purgatory Reign

This is an excerpt that hasn't been shared yet, but I want to give you all a small taste of what's in store when you start this adventure with Peter Saints.

Peter took a moment to catch his breath. “I left. I left the grounds. But something’s bad has happened. Sh-she…Hanna died!” He coughed and his eyes watered. “Because of me! My fault. It was my fault. You gotta help her! I always screw up. Always. Please…”

Pastor Finn put his hands on Peter’s shoulders and shook him. “Why’d you leave? I told you never to leave here. You’ll put us all in danger. Yourself in danger. I didn’t save your butt for you to screw this up, boy.” He yanked Peter by the shirt and down the stairs. Then dragged him, practically running, all the way to the cellar stairs where he pointed at the small door where Peter had escaped. “Sixteen years old and you think you are man enough to make it out there?” he grumbled. “This is where you got out?” He sighed. “You don’t understand.”

“It’s my fault! Did you hear me? I killed someone! You gotta help her.” Peter jerked out of his grasp and grabbed Pastor Finn’s shirt, facing off with him. For once in a long while, he stared down the man eye to eye. He straightened up to his full height. The older man’s gray crew cut and piercing blue eyes were filled with fear. Peter’s hand loosened in shock that it was the first time he remembered that Pastor Finn looked afraid.

Juicy things I'm working on

Back on writing schedule and planning for 2013 book releases.

So, I've let the cat out of the bag with Purgatory Reign that comes out in May, but I want to release a July short story and the sequel to Bandits in Nov, 2013. But I've got to put the peddle to the meddle and write the darned things!
